Maltel Communication

WOKI Talk has been working with Maltel Communication and Maltel Technology for several years, unfortunately many people only aware the name Maltel but does not aware the differences.  Since we have some experience working with them, we would like to share with our reader about these two companies.

Maltel Communication Sdn. Bhd.

Mal-tel Communication Sdn. Bhd. is a Malaysia register company on supplying Kenwood brand trunk radio to the market.  Maltel Communication is similar as Electcoms Berhad, they are one of the trunk radio service provider in Malaysia but with much lesser repeater station and signal bandwidth.

In order to gain larger user group in both Perak and Selangor, Maltel Communication has worked with WOKI Talk by providing us an registered analog signal bandwidth.  Since the moment, Kenwood brand analog trunk radio, TK980 has gained a significant market share in Malaysia.

With the well known Kenwood TK980 analog trunk radio, Maltel Communication also becomes the dealer for Kenwood digital trunk radio, Nextedge system.  WOKI Talk and LJE communication in Penang start phasing in the Kenwood digital trunk radio since year 2004.

Maltel Technology Sdn. Bhd.

We are not very sure the rational behind for setting up Maltel Technology Sdn. Bhd., but one thing for sure is to bring in Hytera brand digital trunk radio into Malaysia without conflicting the agreement with Kenwood.

Any business relation regarding to Hytera are all related under Maltel Technology Sdn. Bhd.

Maltel Technology  is having the same business address, tel as shown in their invoice documentation perhaps the person incharge are also the same.  For WOKI Talk, we only notice bank account for Maltel Technology  is difference than Maltel Communication.

Both Maltel Communication and Technology are operate by the same group of people.  With both Kenwood and Hytera digital trunk radio in Malaysia market, user has more choices to choose.  Even though Maltel try to setup a new company Maltel Technology to handle the activities with Hytera, but we are not sure if there will be any breach of contract with Kenwood.

We are very doubt if Kenwood will slow down the support to Maltel Communication which eventually bring the impact to user.  Let see!
